The Course

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. You don’t have to be an expert swimmer nor do you have to have had any diving experience.

Scuba Diver is the perfect course for those who do not have time to complete an entire Open Water Diver Program. The content of this program represents about half of an Open Water Diver program. You can then complete the second half and become a certified diver at another time, anywhere that is convenient for you.

This certificate entitles you to take part in dives under the direct supervision of a Dive Professional up to a maximum depth of 12 meters/40 feet all over the world.

Your underwater adventures can begin as soon as you want with the SSI Digital Learning program with all the training materials available online. You can learn the information you need at your own pace and then come to Koh Samui to complete the course.

The minimum age to begin the Open Water Course is 10 years old. You also need to be able to swim and tread water comfortably. Please take the online medical questionnaire below to know if you are fit to dive.

About the Program



ACADEMIC SESSIONS

The academic portion of the Scuba Diver program is digital and easily accessed online or offline with the DiveSSI app whenever and wherever you want. The academic section of the SSI Scuba Diver course consists of a series of online videos and knowledge review sessions.



POOL SESSIONS

The pool sessions are your next step. Take what you’ve learned in the academics and apply it in realistic training scenarios in the pool.
Your Instructor will personally fit you for your scuba equipment, so that you become comfortable in you “second skin”.



OPEN WATER DIVES

You will complete 2 open water dives and have the chance to experience everything you learned in the pool hands-on. After successful completion of your open water training dives and final exam you will become a Certified Diver.
