The Course
The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you’ll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
The program is about avoiding, recognizing and solving problems on the surface and underwater.
The course runs two – three days in which you will participate in academic and in-water sessions in the pool and in the open water. As a prerequisite for certification you need to have a valid CPR & First Aid Provider certificate.

The minimum age to begin the Open Water Course is 10 years old. Please take a look at the medical questionnaire below to find out if you need consult a physician before signing up for the course.
In accordance to Flying After Diving guidelines you should NOT FLY within 18 hours after your last dive.
About the Program
The SSI Stress & Recue course will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the open water sessions, you’ll cover:
- Stress In Diving:Causes And Prevention
- Detecting And Dealing With Stress
- Accident Management
- Skills Needed To Deal With Panic And Rescues
- Conditions That Complicate Rescues
As a prerequisite for joining this course you need to have a valid CPR & First Aid Provider certificate.
